Wintzell’s Oyster House

Founded in 1938 by J. Oliver Wintzell as a six-stool oyster bar on Dauphin Street in Mobile, Alabama, Wintzell’s Oyster House is a restaurant group serving Gulf seafood across the Gulf Coast and central and northern Alabama. Known for oysters prepared fried, stewed, or raw, its enduring Mobile character also includes regional specialties such as West Indies Salad and walls of the founder’s sayings.
